BLACKSTONE – Chris Tringali continued his rule of the Cory’s Crusaders 5K on Sunday, May 5, at his alma mater, Blackstone-Millville Regional, as Tringali captured the 3.1-mile road race for the sixth time in the event’s seven-year history in a time of 17:07.67.

Tringali, a 2016 graduate of BMR who is a junior distance runner on the Springfield College men’s track and field team, topped a field of 117 runners that also included BMR track star Cole Bolduc, who settled for runner-up honors for the second straight year in 18:36.76. Bolduc also placed third in the 2016 and ’17 races.

The women’s winner was Justine Hayden, who placed fifth overall in 21:33.60. Six of the top 12 finishers were females, and that group included Woonsocket High sophomore Nicole Dioh, who took 10th place in 22:52.40, and BMR junior Grace Dowrey, who finished 12th in 23:10.17.

The race’s proceeds again went toward families with children battling brain cancer, as well as awareness and research to childhood brain cancer and the Cory Edward Gaudet Memorial Scholarship Fund.
