He was a Smithfield resident for 65 years and was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elinore; step grandson, Greg; grandson, Joshua, and son-in-law, Leo.

He is survived by his two sons, Kirk Wright (Libby) of West Fork, Ark., Wyit David Wright (Sharon) of Berkeley, Calif.; two daughters, Linda Wright Minisce of Wakefield, R.I., and Kathleen Wright of Smithfield; two grandchildren, Alina and Andrew; five step grandchildren, Mark, Brian, Michael, Maria, and Joanna; a great grandson, Steven, and a great-great grandson, Soren.

Wyit spent 30 years as a Merchant Marine radar and radio officer. He was an original member of the Wionkiege Valley Fire Department in 1959. In later years, he and his wife traveled throughout the East selling handcrafted wooden toys at craft shows. Some of his hobbies were creating flower and vegetable gardens on his property, beekeeping, woodworking, and reading. He was a long-time member of the Greenville Baptist Church and took great pleasure in volunteering there.

In his 90th year Wyit wrote: "To my relatives and friends who made my life more interesting along the way. I try to keep busy doing little jobs at my church and volunteering as a chauffeur for my friend, Phil, who had a hip replacement. It is five years since I lost Elinore and while life isn't as much fun it is a very good life. God bless you and keep you well. Your friend, Wyit."

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 1, at the Greenville Baptist Church, 582 Putnam Pike, Greenville, R.I., at 11 a.m. After the service, the flowers will be distributed to the area nursing homes. A private burial will be held in the family plot near Claysville, Penn.
