Jacquelyn Dandeneau – Cumberland

Jacquelyn Dandeneau, 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, surrounded by her loving family in the St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. She was the wife of the late James J. Dandeneau.

Born in Warwick, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Julia (Selmanie) Sheehan. She resided in Cumberland for more than 45 years, previously residing in Warwick.

She was a daily communicant of St. Aidan Church, Cumberland, and very devout in her faith. Mrs. Dandeneau was devoted to the Blessed Mother and prayed the Rosary daily.

Mrs. Dandeneau was employed by the Pawtucket School System and retired in 2006. She was both an elementary school teacher as well as a reading specialist. Mrs. Dandeneau will be fondly remembered by her students as instilling in them the love of reading.

Jackie will be lovingly remembered for her dedication to her family and friends. She enjoyed family gatherings, most especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her three sons James J. Dandeneau Jr. of Fairhaven, Mass.; Thomas Dandeneau of Clayton, N.C..; Rev. Stephen Dandeneau of Chepachet, Pastor of St. Eugene Church; her three daughters Michele Bouchard of Mendon, Mass.; Catherine McCourt of South Kingstown; and Mary Chandler of Cumberland; her brothers Daniel Sheehan of Warwick and James Sheehan of Connecticut; her sister Judy Greene of South Carolina; as well as 12 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Thomas Sheehan.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Jacquelyn's Life Celebration beginning with visiting hours on Friday, June 14, 2019, from 4 to 7 p.m., and continuing on Saturday, June 15, 2019, at 9 a.m., in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., in St. Aidan Church, 1460 Diamond Hill Road Cumberland. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
