NP Pool & Fitness Center announces registrations for summer swim lessons

NORTH PROVIDENCE – Registration for the “American Red Cross – Learn to Swim” summer lessons at the North Providence Pool & Fitness Center for children ages four months to 13 years old will be held on Saturday, July 13, at 8 a.m., at the pool on 1810 Mineral Spring Ave.

The sessions, which will take place on Saturdays from July 20 to Aug. 31, will have infants (with parents) and pre-school children from 9:45 to 10:15 a.m., and Levels 1-6 from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

There is a fee of $40 per session, in addition to the pool membership fee. New swimmers, as well as any children wishing to be assessed for a higher level, should come prepared to take a swim test and be evaluated for level placement recommendations. The Pool & Fitness Center will also offer private lessons for adults, members of the youth swim team, or youngsters interested in improving their performances and techniques. They will begin on Monday, July 8.

Private lessons are $15 per half-hour blocks and must be scheduled and paid for in advance. Signups for private lessons for the month of July are currently available, and anyone interested should contact the pool’s front desk at 401-353-7007 for more information regarding membership fees and available lesson times.
