CumberlandFest launches new site, seeks volunteers

CUMBERLAND – A new website, www.cumberlandfest.org , provides a complete overview of the festivities that will occur during CumberlandFest 2019 scheduled for Victory Day Weekend, August 9-11, at Diamond Hill Park.

“We are thrilled with our beautiful new website,” said CumberlandFest Executive Committee member Jerry Schimmel.

Organizers say they expect CumberlandFest 2019 to be the best yet, with all sorts of new offerings.

“In our attempt to make our celebration the best ever, we have been very ambitious in our planning this year,” said Executive Director Ernest Labbe. “But, ensuring that everything comes off seamlessly will require the support of scores of volunteers.”

Historically, volunteer help has been drawn from the leadership of the youth organizations that benefit from the financial success of CumberlandFest and their youth participants, as well as individual volunteers drawn from the community.

As an added incentive, this year youth organization participants will receive a $10 contribution to their organization for each volunteer hour they work. In addition, shares of the net proceeds of CumberlandFest will be distributed to participating organizations based on the percentage of total volunteer hours each organization works. Youth organizations wishing to provide volunteers for this year’s event may sign up by completing and submitting a grant application form. Individual volunteers may sign up by completing and submitting a volunteer form. Both forms are available on the new site.
