Two brothers charged with attempted murder in Worcester barber shop

WOONSOCKET – Two brothers from Woonsocket were arrested on Tuesday and charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting at a Worcester barber shop last month.

Kenneth Diaz, 22, and Jose Diaz, 19, were apprehended by Rhode Island State Police and Woonsocket Police on the evening of Tuesday, July 9. The two brothers were wanted in the state of Massachusetts as suspects in a shooting that occurred at Wonder Cuts Barber Shop at 260 Lincoln Street in Worcester on June 21. Both brothers were arraigned in 6th Division District Court and turned over to the Worcester Police Department.

The brothers, who live at 111 Second Avenue in Woonsocket, were charged with armed assault to murder, assault and battery attempt with a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license and firearm used in commission of a felony. Kenneth Diaz was also charged with failing to appear on a charge of possession of cocaine, and Jose Diaz was charged with possession of ammunition without an FID card.
