VIDEO: Lincoln police seek suspect in attempted break-in

LINCOLN – Lincoln police are seeking the public’s help after responding to an attempted breaking and entering incident on Preakness Drive.

The incident, which was captured on surveillance cameras, occurred at around 9:20 p.m. on Wednesday, according to police. The homeowner reported hearing a noise coming from near his garage, and upon investigation discovering someone trying to break the glass on his front door with what appeared to be a silver handgun. The suspect threatened to kill the homeowner if he did not open the door, but ran when he heard police sirens.

Police say they do not believe the suspect had any connection to the homeowner.

The suspect police are looking for is described as a male with medium build, approximately 5’7 to 5’9. He was wearing a black hoodie, jeans and dark shoes.

The Lincoln police are asking anyone who may have any information on this incident to call 401-333-1111 or use the online anonymous tip line at Lincolnpoliceri.com.

“We would also like to remind residents to immediately report any suspicious activity they observe,” said the department in a release.
