Linden Place Museum to host walking tours

BRISTOL – Linden Place Museum, 500 Hope St., will host walking tours of the Linden Place Mansion and downtown Bristol with a focus on Bristol’s DeWolf family and their involvement in the transatlantic slave trade on the following dates: Saturday, Aug. 17, at 11 a.m.; Thursday, Aug. 29, at 3 p.m.; Saturday, Sept. 21, at 11 a.m.; Friday, Sept. 27, at 3 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 19, at 11 a.m.; and Thursday, Oct. 24, at 3 p.m.

Museum educator Robin Tremblay will discuss the effects that the slave trading of the DeWolf family had on both a local and national scale. Tours begin at Linden Place, travel through historic Bristol, and conclude at the historic DeWolf Tavern. The tour costs $15 for Linden Place members, and $20 for non-members. A complimentary drink at the DeWolf Tavern is included. Reservations are required. No more than 15 people are permitted per tour.
