32nd annual Apple Festival set for Sept. 14-15

The Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce and The Washington Trust Company will present the 32nd annual Apple Festival on Saturday, Sept. 14 and Sunday, Sept. 15, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Johnston Memorial Park.

LINCOLN – The Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce and The Washington Trust Company will present the 32nd annual Apple Festival on Saturday, Sept. 14 and Sunday, Sept. 15, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Johnston Memorial Park.

Free parking is available at Johnston High School, 345 Cherry Hill Road, Johnston, with complimentary shuttle service courtesy of The Children’s Workshop. Admission is free.

With over 100 vendors in Artisan Row, festival-goers will have the opportunity to shop at a variety of vendor booths offering everything from seasonal home décor to unique gift items. The festival will feature food including sausage and peppers, GottaQ BBQ, clam cakes and chowder, Poppy’s gourmet kettle corn and Poppy’s waffles, hot dogs, burgers, pizza, homemade ice cream, and the festival favorite, fresh apple cider doughnuts.

There will be live local entertainment all weekend onstage, sponsored by IHOP-Lincoln. The Johnston High School Band and Chorus will kick off the festival on Saturday. Featured artists include Christiana Rodi, Side by Each, students from the School of Rock, Poor Man’s Gibson and more.

Enter the signature annual pie baking contest. Pies will be judged by Mario Hilario and Cooking with Class Chef Frank Terranova and the master bakers from Johnson & Wales University.
