Smithfield riders claim titles at CHSA Finals Horse Show

WESTBROOK, Conn. – Leah Folco, a 7th-grader at Gallagher Middle School, and Remy Guertin, a 9th-grader at Smithfield High School, were among the riders who took home championships at the 13th annual Connecticut Horse Shows Association Finals Horse Show on Sunday, Aug. 25, at the Westbrook Hunt Club in Westbrook, Conn.

Folco won a championship in the Short Stirrup Hunter division, and Guertin captured her title in the Hunter Derby division. Folco also recorded the highest score in the CHSA Finals.

Both riders are trained by Dina Patnaud at Willow Brook Farm in Lincoln – Mia Guilmette is also Folco’s assistant trainer, and Sydney Bent is Guertin’s assistant trainer.

Also taking part in the CHSA Finals was Molly Morel, an 8th-grader at Gallagher. She took fourth place in the Pre-Children’s Hunter division.
