Woonsocket L.L.’s Jim Carr Jimmy Fund golf tournament raises $12.5K

PROVIDENCE – The 26th annual Woonsocket Little League Jim Carr Memorial Jimmy Fund Golf Tournament, which was held on Aug. 24 at Triggs Memorial Golf Course, was again a success, as the tourney raised $12,500, bringing its all-time total to $296,585.

All the proceeds again went to the Jimmy Fund, which is a major fundraising arm of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

One hundred and forty golfers competed in a best-ball format and were treated to a tailgate barbeque at the golf course’s Rescue Pub.

The tournament’s winning foursome, which shared a $400 cash prize, was Jake Laverdierre, Sebastian Tonkovich, Matt Letourneau and Adam Bouley.

Craig Haddad (Closest to Pin-Hole 14, $300) and Tonkovich (Men’s Longest Drive, $100) were the other prize winners.

The volunteers who assisted tournament director Gerry Forget were Beverly Forget, Bob Forget, Denise Forget, Lorraine Forget, Jeff Forget, Jeff Gaulin, Roland Hudon, Luc St. Germain, Mike O’Connell, Carl Jetty, and Kay Cunis.
