WOONSOCKET - After nearly 40 years doing business in the Woonsocket area, Prudential Fontaine Real Estate has moved into yet another expanded space, following 11 years a little way up the street at 191 Social St.
The new 2,500-square-foot space, located at 1 Social St. in the same building as WOON radio, gives Richard N. Fontaine and his family-owned and operated real estate company a bright new place to do business.
"We've moved into a bigger space every time," said Fontaine, of the seven times his company has moved and expanded.
Fontaine's granddaughter Stephanie Olynyk recently became the third generation to join the commercial and residential property company.
"It's a lot to live up to," she said Monday, of the Prudential Fontaine name.
A separate suite at the company's new Social Street location will soon be ready to handle commercial real estate deals, and the building will soon have a new rear entrance, according to the Fontaines, with 80 parking spaces. Richard Fontaine says he has come "full circle" from where he started the business directly across the street in 1969.
The ingredients are simple for what make Prudential Fontaine what it is today, according to Richard's son Jeffrey Fontaine, an associate broker with the company. Jeff's wife Kristin is a sales associate with Prudential Fontaine.
"Longevity and customer service," he said, of what continues to keep the Fontaine name successful.
Richard Fontaine said in 40 years of service to the Blackstone Valley, he has seen all the bad and the good times. Calling today's market conditions "very tough," he said name recognition is what is carrying Prudential Fontaine through.
