Nov. 7 'LaidOff Camp' offers support, resources for unemployed
NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. - A program for New Englanders out of work will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Living Waters Church, 15 John L. Dietsch Blvd.
The Attleboro/Providence "LaidOff Camp" offers peer-to-peer learning, networking and motivational support for laid-off and unemployed workers. Organizers say they expect hundreds to attend.
State employment officials from Massachusetts and Rhode Island will be on hand to answer questions and discuss resources available for unemployed and laid-off workers. There will also be sessions devoted to job interviews and the use of social media sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.
Those attending are asked to check in at the Living Waters Church between noon and 12:45 p.m. The cost is $10 in advance, and $15 on the day of the conference. Coffee, refreshments and snacks will be available. Register at the Web site laidoffcampprovidence.blogspot.com.
Directions to the Living Waters Church can be found on the church's Web site, achurchonthemove.com .
