PROVIDENCE - Three local residents, graduates of Rhode Island College, will be honored tonight, May 8, as they are named to the Rhode Island College Honor Roll during the Alumni Awards dinner. They are:
Marianne Quinterno, an elementary early childhood reading specialist at Dr. Joseph Whelan School in North Providence, honored by the Elementary Education Department. A 1975 graduate of RIC and a resident of Lincoln, Quinterno also received her master's degree in education from Rhode Island College.
Amanda Elderkin Simoneau, president and co-owner of Porino's Fine Foods Inc., is being honored by the Marketing Department. A 1996 graduate of RIC, Elderkin Simoneau resides in Lincoln.
Rebecca Sparks, associate professor of mathematics at Rhode Island College, is being honored by the Mathematics Department. A 1996 graduate of RIC and a resident of Lincoln, Sparks received her master's degree and doctorate degree from the University of Rhode Island.
