PROVIDENCE - Jonathan Roderick, of Cumberland, has been named manager of Bank Rhode Island's East Side branch at 137 Pitman St. He will be responsible for the daily operations of the branch, including customer service, staff management, deposit growth and business development.

Roderick has been with BankRI since February 2004. He most recently served as retail banking officer and previously held positions of assistant manager and manager at the bank's North Kingstown, Turks Head and Pawtucket locations.

Prior to joining BankRI, Roderick was a divisional sales manager for May Department Stores. He also served four years in the U.S. Navy.

He is a member of the Risk Management Association and the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce. He also sits on the "Homers for Kids" committee of the Pawtucket Boys & Girls Club.
