'Young Picassos' for ages 8-12 offered at the library

CUMBERLAND - A new series of workshops for children ages 8-12 will be held in the Children's Room of the Cumberland Public Library. "Young Picassos" will be offered at various times during the school year.

In the first workshop, children will create an expressive painting inspired by their favorite book with guidance from the staff. The completed paintings will be on display in the Children's Room until January, 2010.

This program will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 10 to 11:15 a.m. Space is limited. Registration begins Saturday, Nov. 7, in the Children's Room. Bring your library card when registering. Preference will be given to children who reside in Cumberland.

To defray the cost of the program materials, donations will be greatly appreciated.
