Santa Claus ushers in the holiday season at Lincoln Mall

LINCOLN - Santa Claus will open the holiday season with a special celebration at the Lincoln Mall on Saturday, Nov. 14.

The festivities begin at 10 a.m. when the Jolly Old Elf cruises in on "Big Red, the Fabulous Fire Engine." Afterward, join Santa in center court of the mall for more fun. Larry Perlman Productions and the Jazzy Brass Ensemble will perform many holiday favorites from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

The State Ballet of Rhode Island Director Herci Marsden will present scenes from Coppelia, the enchanting story of the dancing doll, at 12:30 p.m., followed by a reading of "Twas the Night Before Christmas."

Santa will set up and be at his winter home at Lincoln Mall through Dec. 24. Pictures can be taken with the jolly old fellow Mondays through Thursdays, 11 a.m.-8 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m.-9 p.m.; and Sundays, noon-6 p.m.
