Fatima Hospital will hold Diabetes Fair

NORTH PROVIDENCE - Our Lady of Fatima Hospital announces that its Certified Diabetes Self-Management Program will offer a Diabetes Fair on Monday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the hospital's Ambulatory Care Center, 200 High Service Ave.

The fair, which is free and open to the public, will feature free screenings, lectures and informational booths. The fair is designed to provide participants with the knowledge needed to successfully manage diabetes.

Led by certified diabetes educators including a registered nurse, pharmacist and registered dietician, the fair will feature lectures every half hour on a variety of topics including risk factors and preventative lifestyle changes, current and new treatments, research, podiatric care, diabetic eye disease, kidney disease, diabetic dental care, cardiovascular disease in diabetes, and neurologic care. Free screenings will be offered throughout the day including screenings for blood glucose, blood cholesterol and blood pressure as well as monofilament testing.
