'Frog Princess' coming to Lincoln library

LINCOLN - The Shooting Star Theatre will bring its performance of "The Frog Princess" to the Lincoln Public Library on Friday, May 16 at 10 a.m.

The performance group is comprised of home-schooled children and collaborative artists of all ages, directed by the sister team of Emma and Casey Ryan, and musicians from Fishing With Finnegan, a band that specializes in Irish, Scottish and American folk tunes.

"The Frog Princess" follows the story of a beautiful but unkind princess who is turned into a frog and banished to a swamp for her mean behavior. In the swamp, she meets Wartbert, a kind and peaceful frog who teaches her about simple goodness and inner beauty. The plot takes an interesting turn when the princess learns she can be turned back into a human if she falls in love with a prince. The play is enriched by original tunes such as "Off to the Bog Swamp You Go."

The show is 30 minutes. Admission is free, and registration is required. Visit the Children's Room or call 333-2422, ext. 15.
