Todd R. Brien

Employment: President of T.R. Brien Investigations for three years. A retired detective sergeant, Brien served on the Woonsocket Police Department for 20 years before retiring in 2006.

Brien has also played an active role in his family's business, R. Brien Construction, for the past 29 years.

Education: Roger Williams University, associate's degree in science, 1997; Community College of Rhode Island coursework in business administration; LaSalle Academy, 1982.

Organizations: East Woonsocket Girls' League softball coach and sponsor of the Field of Dreams Senior Softball League, former mentor at Citizens Memorial and Pothier School, member of NeighborWorks, the Elks Club, Cercle Laurier, and a parishioner at St. Agatha's Catholic Church.

Military Service: U.S. Army, honorable discharge, 1983.

Public Service: State representative, 2000 to 2006.

Married Lisa Howard in 1993; has a 12-year-old daughter, Renee.

Leo T. Fontaine

Employment: Fontaine has been a financial systems consultant and research analyst for Corkery Genealogical Inc. in Canton Mass., since 1998; previously was operations manager for Boston Financial Data Services, Inc., and was manager of broker/dealer operations with First Data Investment Services Corp. from 1989 to 1996; Currently a liturgical musician and organist at Sacred Heart Parish and formerly at All Saints Catholic Community and Holy Family Church in Woonsocket.

Education: Graduated from Woonsocket High School in 1987; received an associate's degree from the Community College of Rhode Island in 1996.

Organizations: Fontaine is a member of Sacred Heart Parish; member of the Main Street 2000 / Riverfront Initiative; member of the American French Genealogical Society; Previous memberships include the Autumnfest Steering Committee; Woonsocket Task Force on Substance Abuse; Northern R.I. Council of the Arts; Woonsocket YMCA Board of Directors; Woonsocket Neighborhood Development Corp.; Woonsocket Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees), Woonsocket Regional Wastewater Commission, the Woonsocket Wastewater Privatization Advisory Board; Community Development Block Grant Advisory Boards; New England Neighborhood Reinvestment Corp.; and the Woonsocket Task Force, and Policy & Enforcement Committee.

Public Service: Has been a City Council member since December of 1993. City Council President 12 out of 16 years on the Council.
