Kids' pictures needed to illustrate Breeze & Observer holiday cards
SMITHFIELD - Calling young artists.
The Valley Breeze & Observer is calling on you to help with one of our favorite holiday traditions.
Every year, we use children's drawings for our company holiday greeting cards and to illustrate our special Holiday Gift Guide.
And so our 2009 drawing contest is open now.
We're looking for young artists who live in Smithfield, Glocester, Foster and Scituate to give us their best interpretations of the holiday season.
Drawings are due in the Greenville office by Friday, Nov. 20. We'll select four for our company cards.
The fifth will be used on the cover of the Holiday Gift Guide section.
Additional drawings will be featured inside the Holiday Gift Guide that's part of our Dec. 10 paper.
Children, age 4 to 14, are invited to submit holiday illustrations.
Here are some tips: Draw on an 8.5- by 11-inch white piece of paper. Use bright colors. Keep the design fairly simple, and fill the space.
Drop off pictures or mail to The Valley Breeze & Observer, 592 Putnam Pike, Greenville, RI, 02828.
