NORTH SMITHFIELD - The Sam Lilley Memorial Scholarship Fund will hold its 8th annual spaghetti dinner on Saturday, May 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Slatersville Congregational Church.

Samuel Lilley was a North Smithfield 11th-grader when he died unexpectedly at home on May 27, 1999. He was an honor student, a member of the St. James Youth Group and Lime Rock Baptist Church. To honor his life, his friends and family established a scholarship that is given to a North Smithfield student who has shown recent positive achievements.

Friends and students will provide service in a family-style setting with china, hot and cold beverages and desserts. The dinner features spaghetti with or without meatballs, beverage, salad and freshly-made bread. The theme for this year's dinner is Red Sox Nation. Tickets are $4 to $7, and reservations can be called in to 765-6736.
