Leonard Girard - North Smithfield

He was the son of the late Leonard and Anita Girard and the loving husband of Virginia Girard for 61 years. He served in World War II in the Pacific and was a member of the VFW Post#6342 in Forestdale. He worked at Stamina Mills for 30 years and Builders Specialties in Pawtucket and was also self-employed, rebuilding alternators and starters. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Northern RI Sportsmen's Club. Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Kenneth of Exeter, N.H., and Dave of North Smithfield; a daughter, Karen Ryan of North Smithfield; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Glenn Girard. He also leaves a sister, Elaine Pizzarelli and a brother, Theodore “Teddy.” He was also the brother of the late Victor and Anita Ashworth.
