Robert Walsh Wigsten - Charlestown

Robert Walsh Wigsten, 48, passed away at his Charlestown home Sept. 23, 2009, with his wife, Lori and his daughters Clarice and Chloe by his side.

He graduated from Scituate High School and joined the Army after graduation. After leaving the Army, his love of the sea and the great outdoors lead him to spend time working as a Point Judith lobsterman. Later in his life he became a skilled furniture maker as well as an assistant coach with the Chariho Softball League. He will be greatly missed by his many family members and friends. Because of Robert’s love of books and his interests in historical places, the family asks that donations be made in his honor to one of the following organizations: Cross Mill’s Public Library, The Seabee Museum or The Friends of the South Ferry Church.

A memorial service will be held at the South Ferry Church in Narragansett at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26. Condolences can be sent to Winfield & Son’s Funeral Home, North Scituate.
