Author to present excerpts from book at next BVHS meeting

PAWTUCKET - Well known local author Glenn Laxton will present "Rhode Island's Hidden History" at the next Blackstone Valley Historical Society meeting.

On Sunday, Nov. 8, at 1:30 p.m., in the North Gate upstairs hall, 1873 Old Louisquisset Pike, Lincoln, Laxton will present excerpts from his second book to be published in December.

Laxton wrote, narrated and produced "In Your Own Backyard," a history of the BVHS tracing its 50 year impact on the Blackstone Valley.

Autographed copies of Laxton's first book, "Rhode Island: A Genial History," published by New River Press will be for sale after his talk.

Light refreshments will be served in the downstairs hall following the program.
