Don't miss this single ballot question

WOONSOCKET - In addition to choosing city leaders for the next two years, voters next Tuesday will be asked a single referendum question:

Shall a proposal to amend Chapter X, Article 1, relating to the Law Department be adopted?

The ballot explains for voters, "Approval of this question shall enact the amendment to the appointment of the City Solicitor to be subject to approval by a majority vote of the City Council and amend the duties. A new section 5 will provide for a process of removal or discharge by either the mayor or the City Council. The amendment would be effective upon passage in the form proposed by Ordinance 09-0-16, Chapter 7461 Sections 1, 2 & 5, passed by the City Council on March 2, 2009."
