Fontaine departure: At least one seat in play
On Tuesday, city voters will elect the seven top finishers from this list of 12 candidates for City Council. They all serve two-year terms.

Christopher A. Beauchamp

Employment: Beauchamp has been a superintendent for 30 years at Narragansett Improvement Co.
Education: Attended University of Rhode Island, 2 1/2 years; graduate of Mount St. Charles, 1977.
Organizations: East Woonsocket Little League, board member, 2002-2004; Woonsocket High School Basketball Boosters, past member, 1988-2002.
Public Service: City Council, 2007 to present.
Married Annique L. Beauchamp in 1984; has a 25-year-old daughter, Elizabeth L. Beauchamp, and a 20-year-old son, Ethan P. Beauchamp.

Daniel M. Gendron

Organizations: Gendron was a founding member of 2 Hands 4 Paws, an animal welfare organization, and is presently a member of the board of directors.

Roger G. Jalette Sr.

Kathryn M. LeBlanc

Suzanne Jean Vadenais

Employment: Vadenais is a charge nurse in the Alzheimer's Unit at St. Antoine Residence, 15 years. She was previously an LPN at Landmark Medical Center for 23 years.
Education: Attended Community College of Rhode Island; Our Lady of Fatima School of Nursing, 1967.
Organizations: Vadenais is a member of Citizens for Better Woonsocket, Prevention Coalition and Policy and Procedure committees; Autumnfest Steering Committee, past chairman; Woonsocket Building Committee; and a member of the Autumnfest Parade Committee.
Public Service: School Committee, six years, chairwoman for four years; Woonsocket City Council, 14 years, vice president for four years.

John F. Ward
