Ponaganset Education Foundation will co-sponsor 50th Anniversary Celebration events

SCITUATE - The Ponaganset Education Foundation voted to join the efforts of The Ponaganset 50th Anniversary Celebration Committee by co-sponsoring the events planned for the Columbus Day weekend on 2010 which will mark the 50th Anniversary of the first graduating class from Ponaganset High School. The event is to commemorate all of the 50-year graduates, faculty, staff, townspeople and those who have supported and followed Ponaganset through the years. Cheryl Hawes and Carder Starr are chairing the event.

Also, at the first meeting for the '09/10 season, the Ponaganset Education Foundation elected officers and made appointments to the Board of Directors. Elected as Co-chairs are Lorraine O'Connors from Glocester and Lori Greenleaf from Foster. Martha Starkey Castro of Foster was elected treasurer and Anne Ejnes from Glocester as secretary. Appointed to serve four-year terms on the board are Steven Winsor, Martha Starkey Castro, Steven Porter and Lorraine O'Connors.

Meetings of the board are held on the second Monday of each month during the school year at Ponaganset Middle School, 7 Rustic Hill Road, at 7 p.m. Meetings are open to the public, and anyone interested is welcome to attend.
