Celebrate Halloween at Mancini Center on Friday

NORTH PROVIDENCE - The Salvatore Mancini Resource and Activity Center, 2 Atlantic Blvd., announces the following programs:

Evening bingo will be held on Wednesdays, Oct. 28, and Nov. 4, 18 and 25, at 6 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. Admission packet is $10.

Blood pressure readings will be performed in the Fitness Center by Golden Crest Nursing Home on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 10 a.m.-noon.

A Halloween party and luncheon will be held on Friday, Oct. 30, at 11 a.m. Come dressed in a costume and join in the parade. For those who don't want to dress in a costume, come dressed in a head disguise such as a mask, wig or face paint. Prizes will be awarded for the best costume, scariest costume and most original costume. Halloween cake will be provided by Mount St. Frances Health Center. Those wishing to stay for lunch should make a reservation with Terri.

Jen Johnson will be at the center on Mondays, Nov. 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30, 9 a.m.-noon, to give chair massages. Each session is $10 for 15 minutes. Make an appointment with the receptionist.

Square dancing at SMRAC will now be held on Tuesdays, Nov. 3, 10, 17, and 24, at 2:30 p.m. The cost is $5 per person. Participants do not have to be members of the Senior Center to attend.¬ All adults, young and old, are welcome.¬ All interested parties should call Linda Giorgio at the center at ext. 108.¬ 

Students from Bryant University will be at the center on Monday, Nov. 9, 2-4 p.m., to work one-on-one teaching members the functions of their cell phones, cameras and i-pods. Register with the receptionist. There is no fee for this program.

The Warwick Symphony Orchestra will perform a Winter Concert at the center on Sunday, Dec. 6, 3-5 p.m. Tickets cost $8 for adults, $3 for children, and will be on sale in the foyer beginning Monday, Nov. 2.¬ The orchestra will present a winter classics program of assorted classical and "Pops" standards.¬ The concert will end with a Christmas Carol sing-along medley.¬ Seating is limited. Tickets should be purchased in advance. Transportation is available.
