Historical and Preservation Society to hold book signing
WOONSOCKET - Jonathan Thomas will sign copies of his new book on Saturday, Oct. 31 from 1-3 p.m. at the Woonsocket Historical Society, 42 South Main St., Garden Level. The public is invited to attend and light refreshments will be served.
Thomas, a former Woonsocket native and now currently living in Providence, has written "Midnight Call and Other Stories."
This is a new collection of weird, horrific and supernatural tales.
Thomas is the son of Phyllis Thomas of South Main Street, and the late Dr. Alton Thomas, and is a graduate of Brown University.
While at Brown, Thomas immersed himself in the spooky genre. Thomas is a student of Edgar Allen Poe and H.P. Lovecraft. Lovecraft was a lifelong Providence resident who died young and in relative obscurity in 1937, but is now regarded as second only to Poe as a pioneering master of weird tales.
"Midnight Call and Other Stores" is his second book. In 1992 his first book "Stories from the Big Black House" was published.
