YWCA NRI winter session registration begins Monday

WOONSOCKET - Registration begins Monday, Nov. 9, for the winter session at YWCA Northern Rhode Island. The six-week session will begin on Nov. 22. Activity programs are available for children, youth and adults.

The following programs are offered:

Sporty Suppertime, for 5- to 8-year-old children, includes a half-hour of active gym time followed by making supper. It meets on Mondays from 3:45 to 5:15 p.m.

Zumba Dance, for adults and teens 16 and up, is a high-energy class incorporating several dance styles and motivating music. With fast and slow rhythms, the class offers cardio intervals and resistance training. It meets on Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Wellness programs include aerobic dance, belly dancing, yoga, volleyball leagues, women's workout room, zumba dance, health events and women's clubs.

Vacation camps include: Doodle Bugs, for children 2.5 to 3.5 years of age; Busy Bee for children 3 to 5 years of age; and Adventure Camp, for children 6 to 15. These vacation camps accommodate a parent or guardian's schedule. Register children in advance.

The Y is now open for childcare at 6:30 a.m. Extended day programs are available for ages 5 and under in the Early Childhood Learning Center.

The preschool program is licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Education and the Youth Enrichment program is licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families.
