A bit of everything at A&A Variety

LINCOLN - When the new owners of A&A Variety in Manville say they sell a little bit of everything, they're not kidding.

There's a lot to feast your eyes on and every inch of the 1,200-square-foot space has been put to good use, shelves stocked with an assortment of items.

Run out of milk or sugar? No problem, the store carries it.

Need batteries, toilet tissue or paper towels? How about shampoo, toothpaste or some candles for a birthday cake? Or ice cream on a stick? They've got it.

"We wanted something that would offer convenience to our customers," said John Ojih. He and his wife, Philomena, manage the store, which is open seven days a week.

The Lincoln couple wanted to get into their own business and said they hoped it will bring in a lot of foot traffic.

In addition to convenience items - those pesky things we often forget to buy when doing bulk shopping - the store sells comforters, mittens and hats, sunglasses and umbrellas, and makeup. There are also framed art pieces that light up, jewelry, pocketbooks and cellphone covers, to name just a few.

Opened in mid-March, A&A Variety is located at 63 Winter St. in the Manville section of Lincoln.

Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays from 1 to 7 p.m. For more information, call 359-6067.
