Burrillville's annual Family Fair is Saturday
BURRILLVILLE - The town's annual Family Fair will be held this Saturday, May 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the town common in front of Austin T. Levy School in Harrisville, at the junction of Routes 98 and 107. The theme this year is Pirates of Burrillville.
A regular feature of the event is the children's Teddy Bear Parade, where prizes are awarded for biggest, smallest, oldest looking, silliest, fanciest, and best pirate. Children and their teddy bears are asked to meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Harrisville Fire Station to line up for the parade.
New this year is a Pantene "Hair Raising" event, where patrons have their hair cut and donate it to make wigs for patients receiving cancer treatment. It's sponsored by the Callahan Parent Teachers Forum, and appointments are necessary. Contact Jen Carlson at 568-7404 for your appointment.
On the common will be live entertainment and demonstrations, costumed characters and performers, and a mini-expo featuring services available to local residents.
For more details, call the Parks and Recreation office at 568-9470 or go online to burrillville.org.
