Sheep Shearing Day at Watson Farm

JAMESTOWN - Celebrate spring at Watson Farm's annual Sheep Shearing Day on Saturday, May 10 from noon to 4 p.m.

Historic New England invites the public to this pre-season Open Farm Day, an opportunity to watch sheep being shorn, meet baby lambs and see baby chicks. New this year is the "Watson Farm Quest," a hunt for clues that will take you through the farm's scenic pastures and down to the shores of Narragansett Bay.

Spinners and weavers will be on hand to show their skill in the fiber arts; try your hand at using a drop spindle.

Admission is $10 per carload. The 265-acre working farm located at 455 North Road. It is owned by Historic New England, a museum of cultural history. Call 423-0005 for more information.
