'Marissa's Run' Saturday at Lincoln High

LINCOLN - Marissa's Run, the scholarship benefit to be held in memory of 15-year-old Marissa Lorea, who was tragically killed in an auto accident last year, will be held Saturday beginning at Ferguson Field, Lincoln High School, at 10 a.m.

Marissa's best friend, Alyssa Brennan, and Brianna Lorea, the victim's sister, have been planning the event with teachers and others for several months.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. at Lincoln High, and there is a $15 registration fee. Each participant will receive a tee shirt. The 2.5 mile walk and run will be held at the high school and through the Amica Insurance campus. Funds raised will be used for three $1,000 scholarships.
