Caroline B. D’Amico - Glocester Caroline B. D’Amico, 65, of Blackinton Drive, Glocester, died Friday, April 18, at Kent Hospital in Warwick.
She was the beloved wife of Peter J. D’Amico. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late John and Carolina (Hopp) Cullinane, she had lived in Chepachet for the past 42 years, previously living in Providence. She loved to travel and explore the world with her husband. She was an avid gardener. Mrs. D’Amico had been a teacher at North Providence High School where she had taught astronomy and physics before retiring in 2005. Her enthusiasm for her students to learn in the classroom was what excited and energized her to come to school and teach each and every day. Besides her husband she leaves two daughters, Ellen Fox of West Warwick and Beth D’Amico of North Port, Fla.; a sister, Peg Williams of North Scituate; and a granddaughter, Hannah Rose Fox and a grandson who is expected shortly. She was the sister of the late Ann Powers.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Smithfield. Visitation is Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to North Providence High School Science Department, 1828 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence, RI 02904.
