Dorothy B. Jarvis - Cumberland

Mrs. Dorothy B. (Quinn) Jarvis, age 79, of Mendon Road, Cumberland, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at the Miriam Hospital.

She was the wife of the late Paul Jarvis Sr. Born in New York, N.Y., Dorothy resided in the Cumberland-Lincoln area for many years. She was a daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Conlon) Quinn. Dorothy worked for the former Almacs Supermarket in Cumberland and Lincoln for many years before retiring. She leaves two sons, Paul P. Jarvis Jr., and his wife Jackie of South Attleboro, Mass., and Jeff Jarvis and his wife Linda of Woonsocket, as well her daughter, Cynthia Keating of Barrington. She also leaves two sisters, Margaret Nelson and Catherine T. Oyarzo; two brothers, Thomas Quinn and Rev. Monsignor Charles Quinn; eight grandchildren, Erin, Elizabeth, Katie, Colleen, Meghan, Andrew, Sarah and Benjamin; three great-grandchildren, Joseph, Marion and Elijah; and four step-grandchildren Carrie, Katie, Bradford and Katelyn. Besides her husband and parents, a son, Wayne M. Jarvis and his wife Brenda, a sister, May Quinn, and two brothers, John Quinn and Joseph Quinn, preceded her in death.

A private burial at the convenience of the family will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Cumberland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Sansone Funeral Home, Bristol.
