Francis E. Faubert - North Smithfield

Francis E. Faubert, 65, of Lincoln Drive, North Smithfield, passed away Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at his home.

He was the husband of Carolyn R. (Bourget) Faubert whom he married Oct. 1, 1966. Born in Woonsocket, Frank was the son of the late Charles E. and Leah C. (Deprez) Faubert. Frank was the owner and president of Faubert Insurance Center in Woonsocket for 27 years before merging with the Soucy Insurance Agency in 2006. He was active in the Independent Insurance Agents of Rhode Island and sponsored a team in the Woonsocket Girls Softball League. Frank taught at the University of Rhode Island in their College of Business, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1965 and his MBA in 1975. He also attended the College of Insurance in New York City. After 31 years of service, Frank retired from the Air National Guard and the Air Force Reserves as a lieutenant colonel. He also was past president of the Woonsocket Kiwanis, 1987, and the North Smithfield Kiwanis, 2003-2005. Frank also was an avid golfer.

Besides his wife Carolyn he leaves two daughters, Cheryl Maynard and her husband Michael of East Greenwich and Cathleen Faubert of Boston, Mass.; and four grandchildren, Sophia, Samuel, John and Joshua Maynard. His siblings, Gabrielle Hardiman and Emile, Raymond and William Faubert preceded him in death.

His Mass of Christian Burial and military honors will be celebrated Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 63 Church St., Slatersville. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Frank’s name may be made to the Kiwanis Club of North Smithfield, P.O. Box 151, Forestdale, RI 02824.
