Joseph M. Laverdiere - Cumberland

Joseph M. Laverdiere, 86, of Cumberland, died peacefully at home May 1, 2008.

He was the husband of Esther (Day) Laverdiere; they had been married for 63 years. Born Jan. 8, 1922, in Providence, he was a son of the late Louis and Mary (Reynolds) Laverdiere. He had lived in Cumberland for the past 55 years. He served in World War II with the 8th Army Air Corps on a B24 airplane as a flight engineer on 22 missions. He worked as a plant engineer for 17 years at Duro Finishing in Fall River, Mass. Besides his wife he leaves his daughters, Michelle Walleston and Karen Rose; and a grandson, Christopher Rose.

He was cremated and a private gathering was held in his honor.
