Clem, Householder top Class of 2008 at Mount St. Charles
WOONSOCKET - Mount St. Charles Academy Principal Herve Richer has announced the speakers for the academy's 84th commencement exercises on June 8. Jameson Clem has been named valedictorian, Stephanie Householder is class salutatorian, and Theresa Donohoe will serve as mistress of ceremonies.
Clem is the son of Lisette and Thomas Clem of Woonsocket. While at Mount, he was named a National Merit Scholar, an AP Scholar, received the Hugh O'Brien Leadership Award, the Principal's Leadership Award, the CYO Discipleship Award, and the Kodak Young Leaders Award. He served as class president during his junior and senior years. Clem was also a member of the varsity swim team, and the varsity track team, serving as captain in his senior year. His community service includes altar server at All Saints Parish in Woonsocket, a member of the academy's Service Club, and Acts XVII Peer Ministry Group, and serving as leader of the Social Justice Committee. As a Boy Scout, he earned his Eagle Scout badge, was a senior patrol leader of Troop 1106, and participated in the White Stag National Youth Leadership Training. In the fall, Clem will attend the United States Naval Academy.
Stephanie Householder is the daughter of Wendy and William Householder of Bellingham, Mass. She was captain of the varsity girls' swim team and captain of the varsity track team. As a member of National Honor Society, she was involved in tutoring. She was also a member of the math team. In her freshman year, Householder attended the National Young Leaders State conference, and in her senior year, the National Young Leaders Conference. Householder's community service includes visiting the elderly in nursing homes, volunteering with Bellingham Youth Baseball and the Bellingham Boys Varsity Basketball program. She has been accepted at several colleges, but has not finalized her choice.
Therese Donohoe, daughter of Jean and James Donohoe of Hopedale, Mass., was a member of the National Honor Society and a member of the Math League Team. In her senior year, she was recognized as a National Merit Semi-Finalist and an AP scholar. She was a member of the cross country team, served as co-captain of the team, and received the Cross Country Coaches' Award in her freshman year. For four years, Donohoe was a member of the senior high chorus. Community service includes visiting the elderly and helping with activities at an assisted living facility in Hopedale. Donohoe will attend Villanova University in the fall.
