Rick Singleton backs Todd Brien for his steady hand

It is not often that I publicly endorse a candidate for public office, but in the race for mayor of Woonsocket, I feel compelled to write in support of Todd Brien. I have known Todd for several years, having served with him as a state representative at the State House. It was there that I developed a high opinion of Todd Brien. His experience as a representative is unique and gives Todd a more complete understanding of state government, which will be crucial during these difficult economic times, for the taxpayers of Woonsocket.

Todd is a leader and he demonstrated that time after time at the State House. As a member of the Republican Party during most of my two terms, Todd, a Democrat, was able to work with me on some of my major issues which he supported. He brings people together from all points of view and has the unique ability to calm people down during the heat of the battle and get things done. But more importantly, Todd thinks things through. He's a planner. He knows the details of an issue. That's important when running a city like Woonsocket. I have read his plan for the City of Woonsocket and it is well thought out. Todd will assist the seniors, control taxes, protect local businesses and attract more. Woonsocket needs economic development and Todd will get it done!

Todd has seen the dark side of life throughout his career, while serving Woonsocket, yet he has an upbeat, positive attitude about the people of Woonsocket and the future of the city. Todd cares about people. For the past few years I have attended his Charity Christmas party. He and his family all work together to serve the community and raise much needed money for toys, clothes, etc. for local families. Todd doesn't just talk about helping others, he does it. And never expects recognition.

Todd Brien is the kind of leader we need today: tough, experienced, compassionate, committed, positive and fair. I wish I lived in Woonsocket so I could vote for him. You can!
