President of Sunset Terrace Senior Association responds to Deusch letter

In response to Fred Deusch's letter in the Oct. 28 edition of The Breeze, I think Fred should send his social security check back to the government, and he probably doesn't need Medicare either.

Fred certainly doesn't have any problem criticizing the elderly for the situation in which many of us find ourselves - living on a fixed income and in poor health with increases in rent, food, medications, and sometimes without transportation, etc.

Many of the elderly look forward to interacting with peers, and we shouldn't be made to feel guilty about it. Fred seems to know exactly what it would cost to take a group out - he's probably able to do it on his own anytime he wants.

The only clown I see is Fred! He's insulting me and my peers when he says that a free meal or a free bus ride will buy our votes. And he's right, we do vote, and the people who want to get re-elected should not be messing with the senior citizens, all 12 groups of us!

Stop targeting senior citizens!
