Paquette memorial foundation supporters thanked
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks, on behalf of the Roland D. Paquette Jr. Memorial Foundation, to all those who helped in making our sixth annual event such a success.
This annual event, comprised of a three-day softball tournament, steak fry dinner and sale of raffle tickets, is dedicated each year to raising funds for a local family battling cancer. The fund-raiser started six years ago as a way of honoring my late husband's memory and his passion for softball. Each year, this foundation contributes to helping a local family as they wage their personal battle against cancer. This year's recipients were the Cummings family of Cumberland.
Our founder, Craig Pianka, is owed many thanks for his tireless efforts each year to make this event successful. It is always amazing and inspiring each year to see so many generous people come forward to help those in need. I would like a special thanks to go out to our sponsors and softball teams.
Thank you Autumn and Summer Villa Assisted Living Facility, Emery's Catering, Stonebridge Forge (Garrett Maloney), Minuteman Press, Dr. George and Dr. Joel Picard, Wow Green Distributors (Richard and Susan Lefebvre and Charles and Pat Lefebvre), Mousseau Land Clearing, Smithfield Fire Department, Unique Embroidery, Smithfield Lions Club, D. Ray Construction, Universal Ambulance, John J. Clarke Insurance, Vision Associates, Time Out Bar and Grill, All About You Wellness (Terri Magnan), Fine Tunes Disc Jockey (Tom Chaput), Keystone Automotive, Affordable Services (Don Medeiros), Suite 600, Fashion Accessories, Custom Drywall and the HAVOC Team (Jim Richard).
Also, a special thank you to my family and friends for always supporting me and helping me to "pay it forward" each year. For the first time in six years, my late husband's team Suite 600/D. Ray Construction won the event trophy. The team voted to give the trophy to me and my daughter, Ashley. It was a moment that we will always treasure and remember. Thank you to everyone for keeping Roland's memory and spirit alive.
