Sentinels field hockey team drops final two games

Back-to-back season-ending shutout losses to Woonsocket and Classical cost Smithfield a more favorable playoff slot and put their final Division II field hockey record at 8-7-1.

Last week Classical visited the Boyle and Addy Taveras' goal five minutes into the second half was the difference in the Purple's 1-0 victory. Tara Vizcaino had five saves for the Sentinels who had knocked off CHS in their first match this season, 3-1.

Playoffs were scheduled earlier this week.
