Lincoln girls dominate BV cheerleading competition

LINCOLN - The girls from Lincoln left no doubt that theirs is the premiere cheerleading program in the Blackstone Valley American Youth Football and Cheerleading program this year.

The Lincoln Midget and Junior Midget teams both won state championships, and the Pee Wee team placed second during a league-wide competition Oct. 25 at Bryant University.

The teams have advanced and will be participating in the American Youth Football New England Regional Championship on Saturday, Nov. 21 at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn.

The Division 15 (Midget) team champs are coaches Krystyn Orsini and Thayer Gaskell, student assistant Chelsea Melo, and cheerleaders Samantha Adams, Karissa Amador, Alexis Andrade, Haley Cavanaugh, Ashley Gaskell, Ashleigh Gilchrist, Vanessa Joseph, Jordan Lee, Hannah Lisker, Courteney Montijo, Nicole Palladini, Nicole Pirelli and Sabrina Ryan.

The Division 13 (Junior Midget) coaches are Brooke Elderkin, Jess Elderkin, Katie Storey, and student assistant Courtney Johnson. The cheerleaders are Hunter Arling, Isabel Barbosa, Danielle Bourdeau, Taylor Bousquet, Alana Brooks, Alana Buontempo, Raina Calise, Cara Colli, Rachel Doherty, Ashley Duquette, Nicole Facante, Tayler Gordon, Katerina Gray, Kyley Gregory, Lindsey Hauser, Hailey Myers, Alexa Nero, Danielle O'Hara, Samantha Rose, Ashley Swirles, Jesse Turgeon, Elizabeth Warner and Tara Yankee.

The Division 11 (Pee Wee) coaches are Brenda Lisi, Kristen Waycott, Mikki Gordon and Tara Roscia, and the cheerleaders are Shayn Beneduce, Kelsey Blass, Rachelle Bousquet, Delaney Cavanaugh, Emily Conaty, Aislyn Doeur, Abigial Engle, Madison Enos, Alexi Francesconi, Lyndsey Gordon, Ella Heal, Julia Heroux, Abigial Janicki, Lauren Jannetti, Hailey Joyce, Candance Kozaczka, Hannah Leopold-Brandt, Hannah Lyle, Jamie Mathieu, Shayne Prezbyla, Brinti Roosa, Gabrielle Smith, Mackenzie Waycott, Victoria Wood and Alexus Xavier.

In addition, the Lincoln Lions Mitey Mites cheer squad was presented an award for best facials during the competition at Bryant, and the Flag team won a best motions award.
