CUMBERLAND - The question in the Cumberland Over 35 Softball League isn't which team is the best right now, it's whether anyone can beat them.
Dunkin' Donuts maintained its perfect season in recent action, dumping the Beer Mug, 9-4, behind the pitching of Kirby Murphy. Steve Yankee and Paul Veiera paced the offense with four and three hits respectively. For Beer Mug, Sean Dunn rapped four hits and Joe Vallett added a pair.
Past R Time got by Supercuts, 7-6 with Jim Goosman picking up the mound win. Brian Bastien, Bill Hulme and Paul Murphy all had two hits for the winners, and Mike Anderson poked a pair of hits for Supercuts.
Affordable Services downed Cumberland Athletic Club, 13-4, behind the pitching of Pep Pado. Terry McVay and George Sankey cracked three hits each for the winners, and Dave Carr and Jack Newbauer added two each. Mark Durkin and Bill George had a pair of hits each for CAC.
In other games, Affordable belted King's Towing, 16-2. Bob Desper, George Sankey, Derek Hutnak and David St. Jean all had a pair of hits for the winners. Kevin Kolek went yard for King's. The winners plated nine runs in the fourth inning to put the game out of reach.
CAC got past Supercuts, 11-2. Brian Millette was the winning pitcher and leading the offense with a pair of hits each were Frankie Fernandes and Pete Laverty. Frank Weatherman had two hits for Supercuts.
Past R Time edged the Beer Mug, 6-5. Jim Goosman was the winning pitcher and Jack Jallette paced the offense with two hits. For Beer Mug, Chris Dunn roped three hits and Sean Dunn and Joe Vallett had a pair each.
