Richard and Vivian Beaudry celebrate 50 years of marriage
NORTH SMITHFIELD - Richard and Vivian Beaudry celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a party on July 25 at Enrico Caruso Club in Manville, given by their children and spouses.
The couple were married on Nov. 26, 1959 at St. Charles Church, Woonsocket, in a ceremony officiated by Father Gillooly.
Mrs. Beaudry is the former Vivian Higgins. She was a nurse and floor secretary at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket for 43 years, retiring in 2003. Her hobbies include painting, crossword puzzles, Scrabble, gardening and walking.
Mr. Beaudry was a machinist at Industrial Machine in Smithfield for 31 years. He was employed at Comturgage in North Smithfield for 14 years, retiring in 2001. He served in the National Guard for six years. His hobbies include playing cards and bike-riding.
The couple enjoys traveling and they traveled to Ireland in June to celebrate their anniversary.
They are the parents of Michael and Linda Beaudry of Charlestown, Thomas and Laura Slavin of East Greenwich, Shannon and Christine Ridgeway of Gainesville, Fla., and David and Lynne Beaudry of Woonsocket. They are the grandparents of Patrick and Julia Slavin; Brandon, Caitlin and Adam Beaudry; Dehlia, Matthew and Lucas Beaudry; and Michael and Grace Ridgeway.
