Carol E. Dumouchel - Cumberland

Carol E. Dumouchel, 72, of Cumberland died Sunday, Nov. 15 at Cortland Place in Greenville after an illness.

She was the wife of the late Paul J. Dumouchel. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of Regina M. (Muir) Malo of North Smithfield and the late Clarence W. Malo. She resided in Cumberland for 45 years. Mrs. Dumouchel was a registered nurse for 48 years prior to her retirement in 2005. During her career she worked for many health care institutions including the former John E. Fogarty Hospital in North Smithfield and Notre Dame Ambulatory in Central Falls. Mrs. Dumouchel also was a nursing instructor with Roger Williams University and Rhode Island College for many years. She was instrumental in the development and mentoring of many nurses throughout the years. Mrs. Dumouchel also served as a member of the Rhode Island Nursing Board of Licensure and Registration for several years. She was a wonderful friend to many and will be sadly missed.

Besides her mother, she leaves two sons, Paul M. Dumouchel of Smithfield and David P. Dumouchel of Mansfield, Mass.; two brothers, Richard C. Malo of Goshen, Conn., and David E. Malo of Smithfield; and four grandchildren, Jeffrey, Lauren, Nicholas and Caitlin.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 8 a.m. from the J.J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Cumberland with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in the Historic St. Joseph’s Church, 1303 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
