Joseph Britt - Woonsocket
Joseph Britt of Woonsocket died Thursday, May 1, 2008.

He was the husband of Lillian Britt; they had been married for 47 years. Born in Fall River, Mass., he was a son of the late Joaquim and Anna Britt. Mr. Britt was the founder and owner of WNRI Radio from 1954-1975. He also was the owner of the former City Streets Night Club and a real estate broker for 25 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Elks and the Shriners. He will be lovingly remembered as a very caring and compassionate person by those who feel a void by his absence. Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Barbara Machado of East Providence; a granddaughter, Tara Lemieux in Maine; a niece, Lori in Arizona; nephews Larry and Leo in Arizona and Luke and Lewis in Kansas; and six nieces, 13 great-nieces, two great-nephews, a great-great-niece and three great-great-nephews. He was the father of the late Betty Ware and Rebecca and Becky and the brother of the late Lawrence and John.

A memorial service will be held in August.
