Simone L. Cournoyer - Woonsocket

Simone L. Cournoyer, 92, of Poplar Street, Woonsocket, died Sunday, Jan. 3 at Woonsocket Health Center.

She was the wife of the late Rene U. Cournoyer. Mrs. Cournoyer was born in Laconia, N.H., a daughter of the late Telesphore and Alvina (Beaudoin) Landry. She was an inspector for the former Miller Electric Co. for more than seven years, retiring in 1972. She also worked for General Instrument for 10 years. She was a member of the Federal Employee Retirement Association and the Chimney Hill Club. Mrs. Cournoyer was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed many activities including sewing, ceramics and painting. She leaves a son, George C. Cournoyer of Pascoag; a daughter, Pauline R. Aridano of Woonsocket; a brother, Ernest R. Landry of Fort Pierce, Fla.; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She also was the sister of the late Janet Boisvert.

Her funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Agatha's Church, Joffre Street, Woonsocket.
